Music Production & Technology

Overview

Whether you’d like to record your own songs with your guitar on a phone or tablet, or completely produce a full track on a computer, El Segundo Arts Academy's instructors will help their students become the songwriter/producer they want to be. Our faculty will teach the fundamentals of recording, equipment needed, how to use a Digital Audio Workstation and virtual instruments, and guide through the whole process of producing a song or an instrumental music score

Our instructors are warm and friendly, and get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with each individual or parent to craft a lesson plan that fits the student’s unique needs and favorite types of music. Whether your kid is recording their first song, or already producing scores using virtual instruments, our teachers will share their expertise in producing music professionally, and help you set goals to achieve your musical aspirations.

What will my child learn from music productions & technology lessons at the Academy?

Whether your kid wants to learn how to record their own songs, or produce a new version of their favorite movie soundtrack, our teachers are dedicated to helping students become the producer they want to be. Instructors will teach the fundamentals of recording, equipment needed, how to use a Digital Audio Workstation and all the different options, samples and virtual instruments, electronic loops, and guide through the whole process of producing a song or an instrumental music score, from the beginning of the creative process to the final product.

What do I need to get started?

These days, we are able to produce music even with a phone or a tablet. And that’s a great start! As the productions start to get more detailed and complex, they will probably need to transition to a computer and some equipment connected to it. It all depends on what type of music will be produced and recorded, and each case is very different. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the different options and point you in the right direction.
